About Thalanaar

As it was...Thalanaar was an Alliance camp on the border of Feralas, at the northern reaches of the Thousand Needles–little more than a flight waypoint east of Feathermoon Stronghold, connecting Theramore Isle and the neutral villages of Gadgetzan and Ratchet.

A single toppled roadsign in the Thousand Needles pointing to Thalanaar before the Shattering indicated that the small outpost was at one point a larger settlement, or served some greater purpose.

New Thalanaar echoes the world after the Shattering, a night elf outpost hastily constructed after Thalanaar flooded and under siege by forces loyal to Magitha Grimtotem.  Gone are the flight master, and any semblances of home that the Thalanaari would recognize.

New arrivals are quickly recruited into the war zone to the dock, where boats wait for travelers wishing to explore the bay the Sundering created.

Andor’ethil Thalanaar!

House history descends from canon resources, and hold that the Dire Maul–what remains of the Highborne city of Eldre’thalas–held a sacred charge given them, the prismatic blade Aman’Kamil secreted away under the Lariss Pavilion, the blade of justice awaiting the moment of its calling.

Remnants of the original Highborne population survived the first shockwaves of the terrible Maelstrom, emerging after centuries in exile from deep inside the Dire Maul to rejoin their elven birthright at a time of great suffering, and it is to those tenuous survivors that Turus Thalanaar holds its allegiance.

A past Top Ten progression guild, Turus Thalanaar chose the Harvest Moon (August 15, 2011) to play out its endgame “Windseeker” on our home server.

It was a story which ended the guild’s five year history with the Blackwater Raiders and opened a new story with the Wyrmrest Accord.

But in days long past, I still fondly remember three people were running across a field. They had just braved Redridge, and followed the trail north into the wastelands of the Burning Steppes.

They panicked when they saw a group of fire-tossing grell with skulls on their heads, and ran almost to the center of the Steppes, to be rescued later by a passing gnome who took pity, and led them back to Redridge, scolding the whole way in a bright, tinny voice.

Six years later, Thalanaar’s comical beginnings pass to new hands.

Tiska Brenn, adopted daughter of Gwydion, has accepted the mantle of leadership at a time when Thalanaar’s future is very bright.

A record recruiting rush brought new blood into our ranks, and quickly into our officer corps, and while some have moved on to the tune of new games, new opportunities or just “life,” we continue to honor the years of history that the Thalanaari brought to us all.

To friends old and long gone, we thank you for a proud history
